A while ago I asked some of my private email group for some feedback about their general experience in snoring. i want to know how they feel and what they did (if any) to solve this problem. Here are the results.
- I have issues with snoring, especially when I lie on my back. It often disrupts my sleep because I snore so loud I wake myself up. Sometimes it helps if I sleep on my side. But I also have allergies and nothing seems to help.
- I had this problem of snoring for a long time. Since I had a single room in college, I never realized that I have this problem. However, after college I had to shift to new city and I had to live in a hostel for few weeks. My roommate started complaining of my snoring problem and I decided to get to the root of it. I consulted a physician and he told me that my snoring problem was a result of perpetual cough. I am very prone to cough and cold and this had resulted in my snoring problem. I decided to undergo medication to shed all the cough and surprisingly, I got over the problem within a month. My roommate is quite happy with me now as she can sleep peacefully. She is also considering to rent a flat with me and that actually makes me feel good.
- I snore every once in a while. For me, talking in my sleep is a bigger problem! My ex snored around twice a week. My brother snores really loudly too. My friend has sleep apnea and snores every night. My friend has snoring and sleep apnea problems and he’s participated in a few sleep studies. So far, no cure
He hasn’t solved the problem yet. - I snore everynight almost all night long. It mostly depends on the position I am in, but I move a lot so I can’t really control it. My girlfriend can’t sleep in the same room as me because of the noise. We’ve had some fights about it. I tried a product called Breathe-Aid. It is a strip you put over your nose and it is supposed to help you breathe and reduce snoring by opening the airway. It didn’t work at all. I still have the problem.
- My family members tell me that I snore but I don’t notice it when I am sleeping. But I noticed that the times that I snore is when I am very tired and want to sleep right away. The people who hear me snore are bothered and are kept awake by the sound of my snoring. To solve my problem, I asked to be turned to my side every time they hear me snore. It does not seem to work because I stop snoring for a while then I start again. I haven’t solved the problem yet, maybe I will go to a doctor.
- Snoring for me is bothersome because of the lack of sleep my significant other fails to get. Oh how I get griped at about my snoring, my girlfriend finds it to be annoying, my son thinks its funny. I do feel a lack of energy, restlessness and maybe a little depression because it seems to be such a problem. I have tried everything from rolling on my side, to using this throat spray that is supposed to help open pathways or something. That didn’t work! I also tried sleeping on my stomach and I even tried those breath nose strip thingies, they seem to work best. My girl sleeps better when I put on those nose strip thingies so they have kinda become the norm.
As you can probably detect from the response, snoring is generally a problem that is very hard to snore, which is one of the reason why I started this website about snore guard. It is the only solution (other than surgery) that I know of to be effective in battling snoring problems. I hope you enjoy your stay here and you are welcomed to submit your stories too.
